We had an opportunity to briefly try a near-production quality Nokia N97 a few days ago. Our first impression was that it was compact in size. Even with the full qwerty keyboard that leaves ample space between the keys, the N97 is small and slim enough for carrying it in a shirt or trouser pocket. The touch screen and the keyboard felt responsive. The software on the N97 looked very much like the software on the 5800 XpressMusic, but for instance, the media bar was missing (you never know if it shows up later).
